Quesnel Community Foundation awards over $180,000 for its 2024 grants

The foundation was created in 2001 and supports community projects and scholarships in Quesnel

The Quesnel Community Foundation awarded a total of $108,500 for its 2024 grants.

The grants go towards projects that enhance the community and range from upgrades to organizations’ equipment to funding programs. The 2024 grants also included the Holger Bauer Forest Safety Award which was given to the Gold Rush Cycling Club for their trail groomer project. The Holger Bauer grant is awarded for projects that promote forest safety, conservation and outdoor recreation.

Other grant winners include the Quesnel and District Seniors’ Society for a fridge replacement, the Gavin Lake Forest Education Society for its 2024 Grade 6 fall school program and the Quesnel Technics Gymnastics Club for competition level uneven bars among many other recipients.

Organizations seeking grants had to apply for funding through the Quesnel Community Foundation with a clear project in mind that would benefit the community. The deadline for organizations to apply for grants was February 29th and they were awarded April 24th.

The Quesnel Community Foundation was started in 2001 and accepts donations from individuals, organizations and companies to fund scholarships and community projects.
