PHOTOS: High School Rodeo underway in Williams Lake

Rodeo action goes Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28

Young athletes are competing this weekend at the Williams Lake 50th Spring Rodeo, part of the High School Rodeos of BC circuit.

Alison Everett, secretary of the Williams Lake High School Rodeo, said there are 24 juniors and 51 seniors competing over the three-day event - April 26 to 30.

Last weekend competitors were in Pritchard, will be in Merritt next weekend and the finals will be in Quesnel, Everett said.

Leanne Stewart, assistant secretary, said the contestants come from all over the region from Quesnel and south.

On Sunday, the final day of the rodeo it will begin at 9 a.m. and finish up mid-afternoon.

Many of the competitors, their families and and livestock are camped at the Stampede Grounds for the weekend.

Last weekend Williams Lake was also busy rodeo-wise with the second annual Indoor Spring Classic Rodeo.
