In the December Cancer Clip, I neglected to mention that at our December meeting Cathy Briggs, on behalf of the Quesnel Unit, accepted an award presented by Nancy Shelford recognizing that the community of Quesnel has raised $1 million through Relay for Life. These funds have been raised over the past nine years – and this year (May 28th) will be our 10th Annual Relay For Life. Congratulations, Quesnel!

For those who love the game of Scrabble or just enjoy the challenge of a competitive game using words big and small, Gold Pan Grannies invites you to sign up for their Scrabble Tournament, Feb. 27, 1 p.m. in the Anglican Church Hall.

A meeting of the anniversary committee was held, Jan. 19 to obtain ideas towards the preparations required leading up the Nov. 19, the 100th anniversary of St. Andrew’s United Church in Quesnel. It became part of the United Church on June 10, 1925.

Sticking to an exercise plan just got a lot easier with the Active Choices program.

It’s a new year and Quesnel Good Food Box has chosen a new, more relevant name for their program. Now called Best Value Green Grocer, its mission is to provide affordable fresh fruits and vegetables through co-op purchasing for all.
